Today on 16th Sep 2025, Mr. Farhan Aziz Khawaja, PAS, led a session for the 123rd National Management Course on the critical skill of drafting summaries in accordance with the Rules of Business, 1973. The lecture detailed the legal and procedural framework governing government work, emphasizing the Secretary’s role as the official head of a Ministry/Division and the precise protocols for consultation, file noting, and the disposal of business to ensure efficient and disciplined administration.
Participants gained practical insights into the structure, content, and challenges of preparing effective summaries for high-level forums, including the Cabinet and Prime Minister. Mr. Farhan Aziz Khawaja highlighted common pitfalls—such as formatting errors, lack of clarity, and insufficient consultation—that can undermine approval.
