The Executive Development Institute (EDI) of the National School of Public Policy (NSPP), Lahore, conducted the 3rdDirectors’ Training Program (DTP) for State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) from December 17 to 19, 2025. This program, approved by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), was designed to equip SOE directors with essential competencies in corporate governance and financial stewardship, in line with the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023. A total of 27 participants from various federal and provincial departments, along with private sector executives, attended the program. Dr. Naveed Elahi, Dean EDI, formally introduced the program and outlined the comprehensive curriculum aimed at strengthening leadership and governance capabilities. The sessions covered key areas such as corporate governance, risk management, strategic oversight through interactive and engaging learning methodologies’. Muhammad Jamil Afaqi, Rector NSPP, welcomed the participants and underscored the importance of the program in enhancing corporate governance standards in Pakistan. Mr. Kamran Ahmad, Director EDI, highlighted the rigorous selection of eminent resource persons and shared the positive outcomes of previous training programs. Distinguished guest speakers from SECP, academia and various industries delivered insightful presentations on a wide range of SOE governance-related topics. The program witnessed active participation and robust discussions, with participants expressing appreciation for the high quality of training. The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony hosted by the Rector NSPP and the Dean EDI.
