Public Financial Management (PFM-VII) held on September 11-12, 2025

The Public Financial Management (PFM-VII) Training Initiative aims to enhance participants’ understanding of public financial management through strategic foundations and reform pathways. It focuses on building core competencies in budgeting, accounting, auditing and fiscal literacy, while also addressing fiscal federalism and the impact of AI on governance. The program also addresses issues in tax compliance and fiscal transparency.

A total of 41 participants, including civil officers and private sector executives, attended the course, which featured key representatives from various ministries and departments such as the Senate Secretariat, National Assembly Secretariat, the State Bank of Pakistan and other renowned public & private institutions.

Dr. Naveed Elahi, Dean EDI, launched the program by warm welcoming the participants, emphasizing its importance for strengthening fiscal governance and resource utilization. The training combines theory and practice to tackle challenges like budget credibility and public-private partnerships.

The first day’s sessions included prominent speakers discussing topics like public financial management objectives, procurement and tax compliance. The second day featured presentations including a panel discussion on improving fiscal transparency and AI’s role in public finance. Participants engaged actively in discussions and expressed their appreciation for the workshop’s organization, culminating in a certificate distribution ceremony by Dr. Jamil Afaqi, Rector NSPP and Dean EDI.
