Dr. Muhammad Jamil Afaqi (Rector / Dean)

Dr. Muhammad Jamil Afaqi is an officer of the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service. Over his 30 year career, he has worked on various assignments in the Department of the Auditor General of Pakistan as well as in various federal ministries and corporations. In 2010, he was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. in Public Policy at George Mason University, USA. His doctoral work involved an analysis of public policy from the perspective of culture. Dr. Afaqi completed his MBA (Finance) from the Oxford Brookes University, UK, in 1997. Before joining PASC as Directing Staff, he was working as Director General Audit Punjab. His earlier assignments included a five year tenure with SMEDA as General Manager Policy and Planning and, another five years with PEPCO as Senior Financial Analyst and, later, as Director Performance Monitoring. His current research interests are focused on the study of institutional cultures in the post-colonial societies. Over the course of his career, he has visited various countries of Europe, North America, Africa, East Asia, Middle East and South Asia.
