Professor Dr. Hassan Askari Rizvi had a discourse on Pakistan’s Heritage in the context of Indian Sub-Continent. He highlighted that Heritage was a concept that linked the experiences of the past with the present and future. Therefore, Heritage and Identity are always constructed keeping in view the ever-changing circumstances. This leads to identity crises at times which most of the former colonies are encountering. This is a challenge that has to be dealt with dynamism. This is the phenomenon which explains the identity journey from Muslims in Mughal era to Indian Muslims in British India and from a demand for a separate homeland for Muslims to an Islamic State.
