On 15 January 2025, Dr. Saima Sheikh conducted an insightful workshop for the participants of NMC 122, focusing on integrating digital competence into civil service operations. Highlighting the evolving demands of the modern workplace, Dr. Sheikh emphasized the importance of equipping civil servants with advanced IT skills for seamless collaboration in an increasingly digital environment.
The session included a detailed presentation followed by interactive, hands-on exercises, covering critical areas such as virtual meetings, shared document workflows, and online surveys. Special attention was given to addressing security and privacy concerns and implementing mitigation strategies for IT-based collaborations. Dr. Sheikh also underscored the need for fostering an “Innovation Culture,” encouraging civil servants to adopt creative approaches to solve public sector challenges through collaborative tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Workspace.
The workshop successfully illuminated the path towards a more agile and innovative public sector, leveraging technology to enhance productivity and ensure effective teamwork across diverse environments.
